My wife and I had dinner at the 29029 (the height of Mount Everest) on 24 April. Warm welcome, attentive service, interesting "fusion" menu with Nepalese as well as traditional "Indian" dishes. We had the Medley of Canapes (a mixture of tasty starters chosen by the chef), "Narangee" (roasted chicken breast stuffed with spinach and mosala mashed potatoes served with a Korma sauce of cashews, coconut cream and basil with pulao rice) and the Tandoori Seared Lamb (cutlets with sweet chillies and marjoram. served on a cashew nut base sauce with mint, pepper, yoghurt and a hint of chilli, accompanied with mosala mashed potatoes and flesh of spicy sun-dried tomatoes). Both were excellent - the lamb cutlets cooked perfectly pink and the sauces and accompaniments subtly spiced. With some crisp popadoms served with delicious homemade chutneys and two large beers (Kingfisher and Gurkha) the bill was £56. Quite unlike the Anglicised "Indian" restaurant meal to which we are used and much more reminiscent of our final meal in the grounds of the Samode palace in Jaipur at the end of our tour of Northern India. Excellent - next time we're in the area, we'll be back!
